About the Project

This project consisted of an 8,000 square foot 3-story race control tower and media center for the Gainesville Raceway which is owned by the National Hot Rod Association. Under a $2.7M Construction Management contract, the 3-story masonry and structural steel building overlooks the ultra-quick drag strip with a 270 degree view from behind a sloped glass curtain wall system on all floors. The new facility is also equipped with a complete state of the art media center. The challenge of this project was keeping the critical path and delivering the new facility in time for the opening day of the 39th Annual AC Delco NHRA Gatornationals, one of the biggest events in Gainesville held each year in the spring.
“This was a very challenging environment in which to construct a unique and complex structure with an aggressive time frame and race day approaching, but your team did an outstanding job coordinating the project and getting it completed on time.”

– Donald Robertson, Gainesville Raceway, Executive General Manager
