St. Anne Early Learning Center was designed by Kasper Architects to provide an engaging space for children, from infants to five year olds. More than just a school, this center was conceptualized to facilitate early development through its inspired features. St. Anne Early Learning Center chose Scherer Construction to build this unique vision, and we worked closely with both the owner and architects to ensure that our goals were aligned from day one, and that the completed project exceeded expectations.

Addressing Construction Challenges

Communication

A key component of this project was working closely with Kasper Architects to ensure that our team fully captured each innovation that was designed. A pre-construction meeting to introduce teams, subcontractors, and owners was critical, and allowed us to discuss project goals with all involved parties.

Site Work

One of the main challenges of this project was that the site was located on top of a hill, with other businesses located downhill. Our precise grading services created a solid, level base that will prevent long-term water damage. In addition, an on-site retention system was installed to prevent water runoff during future rain events. We provided all site work and concrete services for this project and managed all subcontractors.

Visibility

Located on busy 43rd street, visibility was another challenge during the center’s construction. It was critical to us, and to the project’s owners, that we were not a disruptive presence to the community and maintained our schedule despite traffic concerns.
