This design/build project was a 63,136 sf pre-engineered metal building for the Small Airport Transportation System (SATS) Maintenance Facility for maintenance and support facilities for small aircraft. Specialty features included motorized aircraft hangar doors, circular glass lobby, a translucent fabric aircraft canopy and a 16” fire main with fire pumps and foam generators designed to suppress aviation fuel fires in 2 minutes. Scherer Construction self-performed the site and concrete work which included demolition of existing roads and utilities, earthwork, paving, fence, fire pond, underground utilities and landscaping and irrigation, concrete slabs and foundations, aprons, sidewalks, dumpster pad and equipment pads.
“Another excellent job! Your team was very professional and easy to work with. The building is beautiful and all aspects were completed in the most professional manner. This project met or surpassed all of our expectations.”
